BOSTON – In the wake of Trump’s divisive and inflammatory State of the Union, GOP candidates for governor were mum on his administration’s actions that are making Bay Staters’ lives harder. Their only problem: they’ve already made their support for Trump and his disastrous agenda undeniable.
Mike Kennealy flip-flops on his support for Trump, but he openly backs his harmful policies:
Mike Kennealy supports ICE’s unlawful and aggressive approach, pledging to work with Trump to send masked agents to Massachusetts as they break up families and arrest U.S. citizens and lawful residents.-
Kennealy wants to unplug clean energy projects – including solar and wind infrastructure already operational and providing energy to hundreds of thousands of homes, which would instantly send utility bills for residents skyrocketing and cost jobs.
Meanwhile, Mike Minogue isn’t fooling anyone:
He supports Trump’s tariffs that are driving up everyday costs, even as he acknowledges that they “cause [prices] to go up.”
On numerous occasions, Mike Minogue and his campaign openly affirmed that he is pro-life.
He wants to “DOGE” Massachusetts and replicate the federal government’s devastating cuts to basic services in our state.
Minogue donated $100,000 to Donald Trump’s 2024 campaign and held a major fundraiser for JD Vance at his home weeks before the election.
And Brian Shortsleeve is just like the rest of them:
He admitted that he would “cut deals with this president” if elected governor, showing he cares more about appeasing Trump than delivering results for Bay Staters.
Just like Kennealy, he wants Massachusetts to cooperate with ICE to continue their cruel and unconstitutional tactics in our communities.
Shortsleeve voted for Donald Trump and supported his agenda to gut health care and education, halt new energy projects, and implement tariffs that are putting strain on families and businesses.
Fortunately for Bay Staters, they have Governor Healey, the only candidate who will stand up to Trump and deliver real results to lower costs, protect your rights, and ensure that the people of Massachusetts have a governor that represents their values.
Governor Healey is building new housing units to make owning a home more affordable, with 100,000 new homes already in progress, and she banned broker fees for renters. She is cutting charges on your gas and electric bills, and has filed legislation to save ratepayers $13 billion. She made more affordable and accessible health care by eliminating prior authorization and capping copays and deductibles so you can get the care you need.
She signed some of the strongest reproductive rights protections in the country with the SHIELD Act, protected your right to get vaccinated when Trump and RFK Jr. tried to cut off access, and she is banning ICE from using state property and from operating in or near vital community spaces like courthouses, schools, and places of worship.
Try as they might to hide it, but it’s crystal-clear: Republicans are working for Trump, Governor Healey is working for you.
