About Boston's Ward 19 Democrat Committee

The Ward 19 Committee is the local grass roots unit of the Massachusetts Democratic Party. It has 13 precincts in the Jamaica Plain and Roslindale sections of the City of Boston.

 

What is Ward 19's Basic Principle?

We Democrats are united in seeking individual and political freedoms and social and economic justice for all people.

 

 


What does the committee do?

Connects people with common interests and common ideas. Endorses Democratic candidates.

Helps elect Democratic candidates to office.

Provides a forum for our elected representatives to maintain communication with their constituents.

Organizes and oversees community outreach for issue education and voter registration.

Collaborates with other community groups to advance the common good.

Makes recommendations to the State Democratic Committee.

Who participates on the Ward Committee? 

The Ward Committee participants are Registered Democrats who live within the boundaries of Ward 19 and volunteer to work on elections to further the work of the State and National Democratic Party. Participants include voting members who are elected to four-year terms. These members vote to add Associate members from volunteers who have participated in Committee meetings and activities for at least three months. 

All Democrats residing within the Ward are welcome to attend and participate in Committee activies.
