Kids for Democracy Open College Democrats' 2006 National Convention in St. Louis!
For the second year in a row, Kids for Democracy were invited to open the National Convention of the College Democrats of America!
The 2006 Convention was held in Missouri at St. Louis University. Two KFD members from St. Louis led over 450 college democrats from across America in the Pledge of Allegiance during the Opening Session.
Kudos to the kids, the parent KFD chaperones, and to the college 'kids' -- everyone got to the convention despite a
fierce storm that caused
the largest power outage in St. Louis history! Who said democracy was easy! Luckily, the SLU campus's emergency generators worked great, and the sun broke through by the start of the session.
On hand too was DNC Chairman Governor Howard Dean, who gave the openning address. On his way to the podium, he stopped to congratulate the kids on a job well done!
