Ben Franklin’s family knew that to be a good citizen, you need a good education. Did you know that his family sent him to the first public school in our country? It was called Boston Latin – and it still exists! A good education should be available to every kid. Our democracy depends on it! Sure, we should have high goals for reading, math, and science skills – goals like those set up in the No Child Left Behind Act. But without better funding for our schools and teachers, those goals are not going to be fulfilled. And you guessed it. Kids will be left behind! Democrats won’t let that happen!
