Here’s how the Founding Fathers put it: All men are created equal.  Fast forward.  Here’s how we put it:  All men, women, and children, old, young, immigrant, native-born, east-coasters, west-coasters, southerners, midwesterners, city people, and folks in the heartland – get the picture? – All Americans are equal!  So we think women and men should get the same pay for the same work, and we're  against discrimination.  We share the dream of Martin Luther King Jr. that one day everyone will be judged “not on the color of their skin, but on the content of their character.”
