RULES FOR THE ELECTION TO FILL THE UNEXPIRED TERM OF TREASURER

1. The election shall be held at the DSC Meeting on/or about January 9th, 2008.
2. Every member of the DSC is eligible for nomination, but to be elected must be present at the meeting.
3. A non-member may be eligible if a majority of the members of the State Committee that are presented, vote suspension of section 2. (Article IV – DSC By-laws).
4. Self nomination is permitted.
5. Nominations may be made in writing no later than 5:00pm on Wednesday December 5th, 2007. If not a self-nominator, the person so nominated must accept same in writing to the DSC.
6. Nominations may be made from the floor and the candidate must be present to accept the nomination.
7. The nominations and statements so submitted, will be posted on the DSC website no later than 5:00pm on December 10th, 2007.
8. Each candidate shall be allocated no more than five minutes for nomination, second and candidate remarks.
9. If there is only one candidate, the Presiding officer shall entertain a motion authorizing the secretary to cast one vote for the election of the candidate as Treasurer.
10. Winner shall begin to serve immediately upon election results.

Between now and the November 13th  DSC meeting, the Rules Committee will meet to finalize these rules.
