The Massachusetts Democratic Party will sponsor a series of public policy ‘breakout’ sessions on

Friday evening and Saturday morning. 

The sessions will be held in several classrooms at

Lowell High School, 50 Fr. Morissette Blvd., across from the Tsongas Arena. 

The classrooms will be clearly marked and there will be volunteers to help direct you to the classrooms.

Breakout Session credentials will be mailed to all paid Delegates and Alternates before May 14th.

COMMUNITY SURVIVAL AND LOCAL AID: What does it cover? What gets cut? Our panel will examine the difference in cuts to cities and town and the impact they have on local residents.

ECONOMIC GROWTH, JOBS AND EMPOWERMENT: Our panel looks at the sharp decline in Massachusetts jobs and explores ways to create new jobs.

 

EDUCATION REFORM/ 2005:  An update on how our schools are faring more than 10 years after the passage of this landmark legislation.

SOCIAL SECURITY AND THE SAFETY NET: Our panel will discuss the dangers in privatizing Social Security. We will also explore the gaping holes in our social safety net.

 

STEM CELL RESEARCH:  Our panel will cover the biology, legislation and technology of stem cell research.

TAKING ISSUE/MAKING AN ISSUE: Back by popular demand, our panel will help prospective candidates and advocates frame their key issues for the public and media.

 

DEMOCRATIC VALUES:  Our panel will discuss how Democrats can frame the debate around religion and values.

 

DEMOCRATIC OUTREACH:  Our panel will discuss targeting a range of potential voters, including youth, immigrants, faith-based and minorities.
