of Regional Breakfast 

Takes Place in Wakefield on
Sunday, May 18

Invitation Extended to Eleven Area Communities

WAKEFIELD, MA, April 10, 2008  Betsy Sheeran, Wakefield Democratic Town Committee chair, announced today the date and theme for its regional breakfast. 

The theme for the Sunday, May 18 breakfast is The Democratic Party: Serving High School Seniors to Senior Citizens. It will feature brief presentations by U.S. Congressman John Tierney and Massachusetts Secretary of Elder Affairs Michael Festa. Congressman Tierney will speak on education from a national perspective and Secretary Festa will talk about state initiatives aimed at senior citizens.  

The regional Democratic breakfast will be held Sunday, May 18 from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the West Side Social Club, at 4 Harrington Court, in Wakefield. Tickets are $15 each and may be purchased at the door. Tables of 10 may be purchased in advance before Wednesday, May 7. Breakfast will be served throughout the morning. The Wakefield High School Jazz Band will also perform.

We are inviting many state and national Democratic officials and candidates to attend the breakfast, said Sheeran, We will be proud to welcome them to Wakefield during this important presidential election year. 

To date, confirmed guests making remarks include Register of Middlesex Probate and Family Court John Buonomo, Middlesex Sheriff Jim DiPaolo, State Representative Paul Donato, candidate for U.S. Senate Ed OReilly, and Massachusetts Democratic Party chair John Walsh.

Democratic Party members and town officials from Lynn, Lynnfield, Malden, Melrose, Reading, North Reading, Saugus, Stoneham, Wakefield, Winchester, and Woburn will assemble at the regional breakfast.
