Directions

The University of Massachusetts is located just six miles from Interstate
91, which connects to all major highways including the Massachusetts
Turnpike (Interstate 90). Routes 9 and 116 provide easy access to the
University from I-91. Amherst and the University are served by regularly
scheduled buses from New York City, Boston, Hartford, and
Springfield. Amtrak offers service directly to Amherst from
Washington, Philadelphia, New York, Vermont, and Canada. Amherst
is a 45-minute drive from Bradley International Airport, which serves
the Hartford/Springfield metropolitan area. Bradley International is a
hub for many domestic carriers and offers connecting flights to international
carriers. Local companies provide regularly scheduled or door-todoor
airport shuttle service.

From Boston and Points East
Massachusetts Turnpike to Exit 4 (West Springfield), north on Route I-
91 to Northampton, Exit 19. Right onto Route 9 east to
Hadley/Amherst. Left onto Route 116 north and follow the
signs for the University Campus.
Travel time 2 hours from Boston.

From Pittsfield
Route 9 east to Hadley/Amherst. Left onto Route 116
north and follow the signs for the University Campus.
Travel time 1 hour.

From Springfield
North on Route I-91 to Northampton, Exit 19. Right
onto Route 9 east to Hadley/Amherst. Left onto Route
116north and follow the signs for the
University Campus.
Travel time 45 mins.

From Bradley Airport and Hartford
North on Route I-91 to Northampton, Exit 19. Right onto Route 9 east
to Hadley/Amherst. Left onto Route 116 north and follow the signs for
the University Campus.

From New York City
Route I-95 north to New Haven. North on Route I-91 toNorthampton,
