Rockport Democratic Town Committee
Minutes of 01/04/03 meeting:
Attendees: Members - Chair Ann Sheinwald, Helen Rush-Lloyd, Pat Koechlin, Bernie Koechlin, Bruce Franklin, Tom Delaney, June Michaels, Tanner Cronin, Hal Rush-Lloyd, Josh Brackett, Rose McMullen, and David Wise.
Associates - Vernice Gaietto, Jim McCloy, June McCloy, and Hildy Feuerbach
Friends - Jacqueline Paulson, Bobbie Paine
Members excused: Mary Curran, Henry Yorra, Nancy Ebeling, Martha Norton, Claire Costello, Nancy Delaney.
Chair Sheinwald called the meeting at the Rockport Library to order at 1:10 p.m. The meeting opened with a discussion concerning the upcoming Spaghetti Dinner fundraiser scheduled for Friday, February 7, at 7 p.m.
Treasurer Pat Koechlin reported expenditures since the last meeting and the current balance of the treasury of $1069.98. The Committee decided to keep the suggested donation for each diner to remain the same as last year: $12 per person and $5 for a child under 12.
Tom Delaney reported that he had invited Philip Johnston, Chair, Massachusetts State Democratic Committee via letter. Senator Kerry, Congressman Tierney, and State Rep Tony Verga have also been sent special invitations. District Attorney Blodgett will receive a special invitation as well as Senator Kennedy. Jim McCloy suggested contacting Scott Harshbarger and suggestions were made to send out postcards to the Gloucester City Committee and the CapeAnn Forum.
The Chair requested that people sign up on the sheet provided for set-up, clean-up, serving capacities. Also, Hildy Feuerbach, Vernice Gaietto, June Michaels, June McCloy, and Rose McMullen volunteered to make tiramisu for the dinner.
The Committee also discussed the date for the February caucus to elect delegates/alternates to the Dem State Convention in June and unanimously voted for Monday, February 10, at 7 p.m.
The meeting was adjourned at 2 p.m.
