Boston , MA – The 2004 Democratic National Convention Committee and Boston 2004, Inc. have identified workspace for print media during the Democratic National Convention, July 26-29. The site will be within the hard security perimeter so that reporters covering the Convention will have easy access between their workspace and the FleetCenter. Media workspace will be provided at two locations: the old Boston Garden lot, adjacent to the FleetCenter, where a two-story temporary structure will be built and 226 Causeway Street , a luxury mixed-use building adjacent to the FleetCenter.
“We selected two sites that are undoubtedly our best choice for media workspace,” said Convention CEO Rod O'Connor. “We're especially pleased that reporters will work inside the secure perimeter guaranteeing easy access to the FleetCenter during the Convention period.”
“Providing this media workspace fulfills another responsibility of the host committee,” said David Passafaro, President of Boston 2004, Inc. “We are grateful to the ownership of 226 Causeway Street , Intercontinental Real Estate Corporation, for their cooperation and assistance.”
Boston 2004, Inc. will contract with a vendor who will construct a two-story temporary structure on the old Boston Garden lot that will provide over 90,000 square feet of state-of the-art workspace. Similar structures are being used at the 2004 Olympics in Athens , Greece .
226 Causeway Street is a newly renovated, twelve-story, mixed-use building and Boston 2004 will lease approximately 100,000 square feet of office/commercial space. |
