Brown’s Royal Blunder Generating Headlines Across Commonwealth
Today, the Massachusetts Democratic Party released a new web video documenting the fallout from Scott Brown’s claim that he held daily secret meetings with kings and queens. After making the statement on a Thursday morning radio show, Brown’s campaign attempted to clean up the mess by saying the Senator misspoke and had never met with kings and queens. The “clarification” only managed to make things worse when footage released Friday showed that the claim was a standard part of his stump speech, dating back to at least 2010.
“This wasn’t just a misspeak – its right out of his stump speech. Massachusetts voters across the Commonwealth are asking questions and left wondering what on earth was Scott Brown talking about,” said Massachusetts Democratic Party Chair John Walsh. “His royal dance around secret meetings with kings and queens was bizarre but one thing is absolutely clear: Scott Brown was exposed for what he really is – desperate to avoid the issues that matter to Massachusetts families.”
