Fall Internship Opportunities

There are several opportunities for young individuals to gain experience and develop their networks with an internship at the Massachusetts Democratic Party (MDP). We look for highly motivated individuals who share our Democratic values of social and economic justice.

We are looking for individuals that can work well in a team environment, energetic, work independently and implement their skills in furthering the MDP mission and goals. We are seeking individuals with private transportation to assist in our coordinated campaigns efforts but it is not required. Intern’s work this Fall will consist in assisting the MDP in our Statewide Coordinated Campaigns and day-to-day functions as well of that include but not limited in

John F. Kennedy Scholars Award

The John F. Scholarship is an award that the MA Democratic Party gives to one male and one female every year. The award is $1500 to assist a student towards their higher education financial aid. In a ceremony held at the Massachusetts Democratic State Convention, on Saturday, June 5, 2010 the awards will be presented.

Requirements
John Joseph Moakley Democratic Internship

The Moakley Internship is awarded every year to one student for an 11-weeks internship during the summer at the State Democratic Party headquarters. The paid internship is $3500 and you will work with members of the MDP staff to further its mission and programs. In a ceremony held at the Massachusetts Democratic State Convention, on Saturday, June 5th, 2010 the awards will be presented.

Requirements
MDP Diversity Internship Program

The MDP Diversity Internship program is for diverse students of color to participate in an 11 week paid, full time internship program that will provide interns with the tools that they need to build careers and become leaders in public service, policy and politics. Program participants will have the opportunity to transform from objects of public policy into architects of public policy. Our Democratic values of social and economic justice require that policy creation and public leadership involve individuals from diverse racial, ethnic, economic and geographic backgrounds and circumstances.

Requirements:

  • Currently enrolled in a two or four -year College or University or a senior graduating from High School and will be enrolled in a two or four year college or university in Fall 2010.
  • Demonstrated focus on public service and civic engagement
  • Identifies as a person of color, diverse ethnicity, and/or immigrant group
